Races and Games, as a part of applied mathematics, class XII. A simple trick to solve problems related to races is shown in this post.

If A gives B a start of x meters. It means B covers less distance than A.

For example, A = 100 metres then B = (100 -x) metres

How to attempt questions based on races and games?

Assume constant speed, which means if A is running 10metres/seconds and B is running 9 meters/second. Then these speeds are the same throughout the race.

For example, in a 1000 meters race, A defeats B by 200 meters and B defeats C by 100 meters. In the same race by how many meters will A defeat C?
